Patients’ rights and responsibilities

    • Kilsyth Medical Partnership aims to deliver as high a quality of service and care as we can and treat you efficiently and kindly.

    • All members of staff must keep your medical information confidential.

    • Patients are welcome to review their medical records – there is an application form available at reception for this. (You can only access your own records unless you have the signed consent of the other person, are the parent or guardian of a child under 16 years, or have legal rights for the patient’s affairs.)

    • The Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002 entitles any person to request information from a public body and receive it subject to certain exemptions. Please put requests in writing addressed to the practice manager.

    • The practice complies with the terms and conditions of the General Data Protection Regulation.

    • The health centre is busy and the nature of the work means that it is not always possible to run exactly to time. This is especially the case in the emergency “on the day surgeries”. Our staff will attempt to keep you informed if the clinician is running late but would appreciate your understanding in these circumstances.

    • Please attend on time for your appointment. We appreciate that problems can arise and therefore you will be seen if you are less than 5 minutes late for an appointment. However you will have to wait until you can be fitted in. If you are more than 10 minutes late you will only be seen at the clinician’s discretion.

    • In return we ask that you are polite and patient with the staff. We operate a ZERO TOLERANCE POLICY regarding physical or verbal abuse towards any member of the practice team.
